I think the pressure comes from the assumption that the Saudis probably want a higher profile name as coach. The whole narrative was insane, they went from relegation fodder to top 4 then he’s ‘under pressure’ because they lost tight games to Brighton, City and Liverpool.
It’s one season though.I'm surprised there isn't more of a call to go to an 18 team league, particularly when there's increased European football from next season.
The promoted sides this season are about as bad as I can remember, they add absolutely nothing to the league.
The Prampiernship, tier 1.5 of the English football pyramid. The two teams involved in this league play each other for 20 home and and away games each. At the end of the season there is a playoff between the top two sides to determine the winner. It’s one season though.
Where are you putting the two teams?
8th tier.It’s one season though.
Where are you putting the two teams?
Indeed, last year was the opposite, they all stayed up. who votes to increase their chance of getting relegated, and staying downjust never happening. It may be a Talksport discussion point, but that means less than nothing. It’s one season though.
Where are you putting the two teams?
France relegated 4 teams if im right last season and promoted 2 only from 2nd division to transition into a 18 team leagueIt’s one season though.
Where are you putting the two teams?
Yeah that’s easily done. But then you’ve got to filter them down. So what do you do? Because three 24 EFL divisions is already at capacity. So do two clubs lose EFL status because the top clubs have to play more European football?France relegated 4 teams if im right last season and promoted 2 only from 2nd division to transition into a 18 team league
Top end of it there are certainly clubs who could compete in the EFL but the drop off is pretty big (or was when we were there)Yeah this always happens when you get a bad year.
Although you could easily have a league 3. The national league already pretty much is that isn't it.
Yeah with the notts county, Wrexham hype, people don't really get how awful the sides are in the bottom half generally.Top end of it there are certainly clubs who could compete in the EFL but the drop off is pretty big (or was when we were there)
i can’t think of anyDon't think a promoted team to league two has ever gone straight back down have they?
Nope, but they only have 2 going up. in the end, the top of the table is perfectly good, no-ones arguing that. You do need to weed out the terribly run clubs at the bottom of Division 4, and as someone that remembers that awful stagnation which we were a part of for decades, promotion needed. A lot of them come up and stink up the place with lousy home and away crowds though, but hey it's how it goes.Don't think a promoted team to league two has ever gone straight back down have they?
It's nice to know your not still bitter about it though. And for all the talk of how strong the top teams are, teams going back to back is still pretty rare. Hasn’t happened since 2019 and the team that did that would probably still be in L1 now if Rick Parry wasn’t a massive ****
Erm, anyway…
I will be bitter about it until I take my last breath and I’m not sorry. It's nice to know your not still bitter about it though.
Happens a fair few times, 6 times since 2004. yeah that's all to do with 2 up in conference and 4 up in Division 4, should be 3 in both probably.
Has that result changed anything? Bare minimum you expect three points there, Sheffield are horrible. The whole narrative was insane, they went from relegation fodder to top 4 then he’s ‘under pressure’ because they lost tight games to Brighton, City and Liverpool.
