Players who went up or down in your judgement after going through their records

To a lesser extent and varying degrees, Bradman, Sobers and Imran. Doesn't mean they still aren't highly rated, and in some instances the absolute best, but just not the beyond reproach records that I initially believed.
Therein lies a cue for all of us to stop staring at country wise stats.

Higher? Hadlee for sure, don't know why he didn't get the recognition that the others did while he played. He was unquestionably better than Lillee and definitely a top 3 bowler of all time.
Yeah I recall the time when you didn't put Hadlee in your gold tier and got lot of push back here. Good on you for updating your view and being open about it :thumbup1:

What's the story with Arthur Morris?
Yeah, like Morgieb said, he's Hayden from the dinosaur era. I thought he was the best Aussie opener ever because he was picked in Cricinfo's and Bradman's teams but his peak is even shorter than Hayden and he was pretty meh outside of it. Only a 9 year career too. All the Hayden shortcomings but dialled up. Now I don't think he's better than a number of Aussie openers. Certainly not Hayden, Lawry, Simpson or Ponsford. The 50s were very tough for batting so he regains some points but still.

Still unsure about, Wasim. Think he's probably the most difficult bowler to rate.
He was more consistent and had less of a dip towards late end career than either Imran or Waqar, for whatever that means.

Me personally, as bowlers I have Imran exactly = Wasim , and both ahead of Waqar for their careers.

But a relatively less high peak than Imran and Waqar.

Wasim is in that weird spot where he's overrated by the general public but underrated on CW. This is probably the only place on the internet he'd lose a poll to Fred Trueman.
Did he already lose a poll to Fred recently? (curious since I wouldn’t be voting that way)

Matthew Hayden of the 40's, pretty much. Averaged tanked in the 50's when countries that weren't Australia finally figured out how to bowl again.
But didn't most of the Aussies averages drop over that period? Think someone showed similar for Harvey? Could be wrong

On the bowlers to never take a ten wicket match haul, I mentioned that I thought Bob Willis was underrated. I think Botham gets more affection amongst the English/British public, but Willis was a better bowler for longer in his career. The only team that Willis didn't perform so well against was the Windies, but a) they were so good and b) he never actually played so many tests against them and got truly battered by Sir Viv in his final test, when he promptly retired when his knees had long since given up. Very good bowler generally and not just in England.
