I know it was pre AEW but I genuinely wonder if those UFC fights broke Punk. Like he always had this in him but getting absolutely humiliated twice in front of millions of people after years of grifting about being a tough guy, there's very few people that could go through that and it not affect them.
His work in AEW after that was very high quality for a while but yeah the humiliation might've ****ed him up mentally even more.

I'm still a mark for him though, hope he still ends up on tv somehow soon.

Starks vs Danielson in a strap match is a pretty good last minute switch

Guessing Danielson isn't fully recovered but in a strap match can probably work around the tender arm.

The 2nd loss especially must have been demoralising, they gave him a soft opponent who controlled the fight so much it was hilarious and then top it all of could not be bothered to finish him and got fired on the night!

Then of course the aftermath, Dana White politely saying he was crap, and the rest of the MMA community who mocked him relentlessly in the aftermath.

I have been watched dark side of the ring new series, as always an easy enough watch, Doink and the Graham family featured so far, not the most uplifting but to be expected given the name of the series!

I'm also pretty sure 90s HBK never went around physically attacking people anyway, since there were plenty of people on the roster at the time who would have legit killed him in a shoot fight lol

I think a lot of people did not like how arrogant 90s HBK was but there were quite a few who seemed to get on with him, even including Bret Hart up until the early part of 1996 at least, lol. And he was always pretty professional from all records except for the arrogance.

Meltzer saying "lunging" at TK was watering it down. Sounds like Punk genuinely tried to attack him. TMZ do your thing

Yeah, good riddance. Feel sorry for Tony, as he seems like a nice bloke who at heart is just a huge wrestling fan who wants to do what he can to please everyone, and I don't want to sound victim Blamey, but one rather feels like if he hadn't been such a mark for Punk in the first place this might have been avoided.

I don't know if any wrestlers have ever made me totally 180 on them over a year or two quite like the Gunn brothers Thought they were Mojo Rawley levels of irrelevant. Perfectly nice guys irl but just not pro wrestlers. But fmd, they ooze it now.

You could see them being a great midcard act in any era. With a few more years they may even have the potential to be greats.

I was surprised I enjoyed All Out was having my doubts going in.

Christian Cage

I am a Punk fan but it was the right decision. From the outside I think the wrestling business can be such a toxic place with egos ruling the roost. With AEW being slightly more relaxed/ chummy than WWE can cause these issues to happen more. Werent there other clashes not involving Punk

I was very meh on Christian when he came into AEW, but to give him his due he's probably the best thing AEW has going at the moment outside of the Cole/MJF thing.

Christian is easily one of the most underrated of all time. Genuine ATG singles guy (obv a tag one)

Always found it baffling that Vince didn't see how much he offered, even outside the ring.

If rumours are to be believed he did, but he just really didn't like his face. E.g. the eventually scrapped planned storyline where Christian's face would be blurred out at all times he was on screen lol

Shame to see Terry Funk go. He must have been a wreck for the past six years or whatever since he retired though
