As much as I hope Bumrah makes a comeback, assuming he is out of commission, who would rank as the best of these SC fast bowlers?

Asif was probably the best new ball bowler I have seen, including McGrath.

Shoaib was the most deadly bowler ever on his day and the fastest ever.

Bumrah was the most consistently excellent.

Battle of bowlers who couldn't/haven't bowled enough for me to really rate. I guess Asif, out of this crew.
Bumrah has already played more Tests than Asif, but not quite at the quality of Asif. I think his impact is obviously going to be higher though, so even after 10 odd Tests of decent quality I think Bumrah passes him.

In terms of potential: Shoaib
In terms of actual career: Shoaib
Based on what? Bumrah has like 4-5 full successful tours in Aus, SA and England in his short career.

Shoaib was lucky to make a complete series in his career. Makes it hard to vote for him for that reason.

Yeah, I voted for Bumrah because he's more likely to make an impact on a series because he can actually play back to back tests when fit. Shoaib never lasted 2 complete tests consecutively. Asif was a stock bowler on roads.

Pure skills - Asif
Fear factor and X-factor - Shoaib
Performance and match winning ability - Bumrah
Shoaib to me was a better matchwinner, especially as he has performances on dead wickets at home which Bumrah does not. Shoaib could win you a game In a single session.

I think Bumrah has this easily now, especially given his fabulous performance against England at home(including that near ATG 9fer which turned the series around and overall Bumrah deserved even more wickets for setting up things with Kuldeep in the third test 1st innings).
