You guys don't rate Will Young in T20?
He's a fine cricketer, just think that the options available for this tour are better than him in this format. Conway, phillips mitchell and chapman are locks at full strength, Allen's the only top order guy they've got who can score quickly from ball one and seirfet is in good form.

Haha I think NZT just really hates Seifert. I'm not totally against that perspective but there aren't enough actual batsmen in the squad to leave both him and Rachin out.
Until he puts up consistent numbers against quality opposition, I don't rate him.

The squad is really light on batting. I can't help but feel the T20 series is also an audition or game time scenario for the world cup moreso hence the bowling heavy squad, whereas the batting is almost seemingly settled

Seifert's put in a lot of poor performances for NZ but, after 18 months out of the side, he did at least make a couple of scores (79* and 88) in the home T20 seres vs SL last summer.

15th spot (Macewell's) in the WC squad still up for grabs this series. Though probs not Seifert.

Stead has said he sees Phillips in the finishers role, coming in in the last 12 to 15 overs of a ODI. Still can't help but feel we'd get more out of him further up the order but that's better than Nicholls batting 6 I spose.

Also, yessssss @Prince EWS

Not often I get excited about a T20 series but I am with this one - pretty good time zone to get up at 5am and watch. So many guys I'm intrigued to watch for different reasons.

Not a fan of a 4 match 20 20 series before a world cup starts in 1 month, looks like these teams will be under cooked

Believe it or not, originally 3 ODIs were planned.

A 5 ODI series would've been better like in SA, but these T20s are basically ODI warm-ups (especially for those coming from The Hundred).

Alrighttty, actually looking forward to this. Both teams fielding their best players + auditioning some promising newbies. Should be some tasty 8 games ahead. We haven't played a white ball series (odis and t20s) against eng in eng in 8 years....which is a bit surprising. But this oughta be good. Lets goooooo
