I don't think that Boycott's absence from 1974 to 1977 was announced as a retirement. More that he was unavailable for international cricket until he decided otherwise.

What's the story with Pietersen? I don't remember him retiring at all.

I was hoping cnerd had insider info on him coming out of retirement for the Tests in NZ after RSA had to pull their T20 contracted players.
