Mr. Glass
i would actually go for an attack that would be a nightmare to face because of bowling style and extreme pace

Wasim - unorthodox release style at the crease plus insane skill
Akhtar - extreme pace
Murali - impossible to read without tons of experience
Bumrah - no one else has ever bowled like he has re bowling action plus skill too

Fully convinced now that it's just trying to be contrarian.
Both times I answered based on what I thought was best out of available.

But even the updated choice still does not contain my first choice permutation out of the names listed, and I mentioned that preferred permutation.

And finally, since people complained and Murali got added in, I thought, hey if I complain, maybe Ambrose gets added in, and I can select for you what actually is my opinion on the best 4 man bowling attack.

Imran, Hadlee, Marshall, Warne and Hadlee, Marshall, Warne, McGrath possibly the two most common AT attacks seen on CW.

Perhaps, but many rank him no 4 behind Marshall-McGrath-Hadlee, so ahead of both Steyn and Imran.
That is true, and I do as well. Well I have him more or less tied with Steyn for 4th, so yes... Ahead of Imran and Steyn but I went with what I normally see.

Not the focus of the vid, but wow, the quality (Warne apart) of the cordon he had to work with..

Best 4 quicks are Marshall, Mcgrath, Hadlee and Steyn. They are close enough in quality that variety matters more. Hadlee overlaps with Steyn as an outswing bowler and Mcrgrath as a channel bowler, so he gets dumped very easily. Wasim might be a better option than Steyn for variety, but I consider him substantially worse. Would add Murali if he was an option on the voting.

Would never pick all the worst batting options in a real game though. A much better tail is going to add a lot more value than a small increase in bowling.

My sentiments exactly, my iitial thought was
Marshall, Warne, Steyn, McGrath

I think that is literally the pace attack possible. But then you wonder if it's s little exposed, but Maco and Warne were handy with the bat.
But with Hadlee being not far ( imo) below McGrath and averaging more with the bat, should you just swap them and end up with
Hadlee, Marshall, Warne, Steyn.

But the combination of Marshall opening with McGrath just seems too good to pass up.

Best attack and variety (style and era) or best balance (tail)
