Siraj is definitely another one who is a certainty. I'm a bigger fan of Kuldeep than most here but I know that if he has a couple of bad games they will drop him without a 2nd thought, ditto Chahal. Ishan and Samson have done diddly squat to inspire any confidence. Gill's WI tour has been poor.
Even in 2019 when lack of #4 batsman was a meme, rest of the team practically picked itself. There's much more confusion this time.

this is it, they will pick Axar as the backup all rounder and then decide if they want an extra pacer or spinner. if its pacer they will pick Thakur ahead of others and if its spinner they will pick Chahal. Sundar and Mukesh wont be picked because they are in the Asian Games team same for Jaiswal and Tilak
Oh he will definitely get picked. I'm talking more about having confidence in their selection and role in playing XI. I can entirely see Gill's role getting changed or him getting dropped for say Rahul. Our opening combo is not as settled as It used to be with Rohit-Dhawan.
why would he get dropped for Rahul? they played together in two different series in different positions or roles however you want to call it

yeah Iyer sucks against short ball but he has made runs despite it in odis. from what i saw teams became too narrowly focused on just trying to bounce him out and in odis you can get away with that weakness because the pressure to score quickly isnt as high as in t20 and because the umpires actually call out wides for bouncers unlike in tests
It's a must win tournament for India, anything less than victory would be a huge failure ..Better to go with the guys who have had success in the format rather than largely unproven players .
