Test Average Draft

Ok so this kinda sucks, have a wildcard but can't use it, could've been sneaky and wait on the time out drafter to see if I get lucky. However checking now who is available. Sucks as I'm almost sure won't get what I need. Will give name shortly

Ok I cannot complete my team within my own criteria so I'll just select my favorite player among the options available Bert Ironmonger Bowl 17.97 @ataraxia. Unfortunate at the end their for me however tried my best one away from a balanced team.

1) John Rutherford
2) Geoff Boycott
3) Daryll Cullinan
4) Basil D'Oliveira
5) Mark Boucher(W/K)
6) Chris Cairns
7) Paul Reiffel

No dud players at least but a suboptimal balance.
Briggs has nosebleeds at 7 but heaps of these picks are gun. Some of the most underrated players ever in there.

My team

Kraigg Brathwaite
Barry Sinclair
Ron George Headley
Jacques Kallis
Hashmatullah Shahidi
Shakib Al Hasan
P Jayawardene
Mike Procter
Imran Khan
Merv Hughes
Mitchell Starc

The splendid batting depth makes up for the weak top order with Procter and Imran at 8 and 9 to support Kallis and Shakib and Starc batting at 11. Hopefully Barry and Headley can invoke some of the spirit of Barry Richards and George Headley to give the team a good start.

The bowling lineup is the strength of my team. Two atgs in Imran and Procter supported by 2 atvgs Hughes and Starc and also two atg allrounders in Kallis and Shakib. Kraigg can provide some spin support too. Prasanna is a solid keeper who can support them all.

After all my moaning, I forgot to attach a spiel to my final team so here goes.

Michael Atherton /
Peter Richardson /
Marnus Labuschagne /o
Walter Hammond (c) /o
Colin Cowdrey /
Morice Bird /o
Harold Larwood o
Gil Langley (w/k)
Curtly Ambrose o
Matthew Hoggard o
Danish Kaneira o

A pair of steady if unremarkable openers are followed a trio of talented middle order batsmen, including an ATG. It may be asking a bit of Bird to be a Test all rounder but he is regarded as such in FC ranks. Larwood is no slouch at #7 with a Test knock of 98 and 3 FC centuries. Langley is a more than competent Test 'keeper, having taken over from the highly regarded Don Tallon. Initially selected in Shield cricket as a batsman, he adds depth to the batting.
Ambrose. Hoggard and Larwood make up a fine pace attack with Hammond and Bird in support. Danish Kaneira, with 261 Test victims, provides the spin with back up from Labuschagne if required.

With that line-up I had no grounds to complain. Sorry about that @JOJOXI - this proved a very challenging and interesting draft. Well done.

Who are those 2 atg bats? Just asking out of interest.

Excluding two double hundreds minnow-bashing NZ on home flat tracks at our lowest of lows, he averages 31 opening. Less than Zak ****ing Crawley.
