I believe that throws us back to the range we had before hb was persuaded to throw a spanner in my selection plans. To be honest I can't be bothered trying to find someone who fits the 14.5 - 15.5 range so I will stick with my intended pick before hb's 'comeback' and go with Billy Barnes (bowling 15.54). I hope no one is going to demand a re-pick for the sake of 0.04 - I've had enough stress (some self inflicted). :(

I will. It's 0.14, but more importantly... Billy Barnes is picked.

Oh evil Shri, all this desperation for Praveen Kumar?

Also Himannv had managed a very decent middle order (Dexter, Mathews, Clarke, Watling and the great Russell Arnold) before pulling out. Most of us would've loved to pick players of that calibre in round 11.

I was hoping to find someone to bat at #6 so this was difficult.
I'm settling on Morice Bird (bowling 15.0) who has 2 Test half centuries and 7 FC centuries to his name.

My final side:

Michael Atherton /
Peter Richardson /
Marnus Labuschagne /o
Walter Hammond (c) /o
Colin Cowdrey /
Morice Bird /o

No dud players at least but a suboptimal balance.

After a long discussion the skipper decides to move Saurav Ganguly down to No.4, his preferred position which was possessed by SRT during his career. VG Kambli will play at No.6 while South African legendary opener Jimmy Cook will open the inning with Jayasuriya.

Jimmy Cook

CricZo XI

Jimmy Cook /
Sanath Jayasuriya / o (7)
Frank Worrell / o (c) (5)
Saurav Ganguly / o (8)
Steve Waugh / o (6)
Vinod Kambli /
Ian Healy + /
Pat Cummins o / (3)
Graham McKenzie o (1)
Bill O'Reilly o (4)
WC Jeff Thomson o (2)

I am pretty happy with this very experienced playing XI. The Aussie bowling attack of Cummins, Thomson, McKenzie and O'Reilly can rattle any batting line up for sure. Worrell, Waugh, Jayasuriya & Ganguly will play the role of that 5th bowler when needed.

Cook & Jayasuriya were caught discussing how to adapt BazBall and management is in the mood to let them enjoy it. Kambli & Ganguly too are excited to take on the spinners while Worrell & Sr. Waugh will play their natural game.
