It's based on the averages of the previous pick. For instance, if that previous pick is based on a batting average and you can't find a suitable player with a batting average within 0.5 that player, then you can play your wildcard and pick someone within 0.5 of the previous pick's bowling average.

You pick from the previous drafted player's other average. For eg. if previous drafter chose someone with a batting average of 40 and bowl average of 20 on the basis of batting average of 40, you choose someone with bat/bowl average of 20 with your wildcard.

instead of picking from someone close to Greenidge's batting average, a wildcard pick would be picking someone within +/- 0.5 of Greenidge's bowling average. But it appears he doesn't have one so no option here anyway.
