**Official** English Football Season 2023/24

So obviously I had to Google that.

It's a bad 'un. Career ender I'd guess. There's something very disquieting about seeing limbs at angles they're not meant to be.

David Busst still edges it for the worst I've seen though:

If memory serves the groundsmen had to try to hose the blood off the pitch and cover up what couldn't be removed with sawdust.

I remember that picture being absolutely everywhere in the 90s. Less squeamish times.

I think Schmeichel immediately puked and later got trauma counselling for it.

I think I remember watching the Dave Busst game. But might be a false memory as (per Uppercut) that image definitely did the rounds at the time. I remember a similar video with Henrik Larsson which had slo-mo showing his lower leg dangling free (so to speak) as his shin had been clean broken half way between ankle and knee.

Pretty sure it was actually Larsson's shin pad which was broken and made it look worse than it was.

Long shot I know but any Kiwis know anything about Max Mata as he is signing for Shrewsbury and we all hope he is better than Kris Bright who was also a Kiwi International who was utter dogs hit.
Dunno about his football, but I think a Max Mata starred as one of the ranchers in The Power of the Dog. Can't be too common a name. But unlikely to be the same person.

Norwood's on Fire
So @GIMH is James Norwood going to propel us back up to league 2?
I would have to imagine so.
It’s quite strange to me that he’s gone back down that low - in the L1 play-off final he was the best player on the pitch.

Probably not got the killer pace he had for us but should fire plenty of goals and get defenders into all sorts of trouble.

I want to take the opportunity, on the auspicious occasion of the beginning of English Championship season to remark, How is James Ward-Prowse still in Southapmton?
