Do the Aussies have a genuine reason to complain about the ball change during there 2nd innings 2 days ago?

I think they have a right to feel hard done to, but the umpires made their decision and you have to get on with it.

However, the truth is that whilst the ball did more, they should have dealt with it better than they did.

The answer to slippy's question is the umps were chumps. Not really sure what you can do about it except embarrass them not to do it again.

It depends what you mean by 'complain' really. The officiating was bad and it had a big impact on how things went from there, so yeah they can have a whinge about it, like they could about any other important bad umpiring decision.

But there was no cheating, corruption etc. Umpires make bad calls sometimes and unfortunately sometimes it can swing the result. Nothing more can/should be done about it - we don't need a Royal Commission into it.

Nothing we say or do will change the past. It's a topic that posters will continue raise - just like sandpaper and mints - but this time there was nothing against the rules of the game. It was just an apparently poor choice of ball by the umpires.

I think a Royal Commission should be launched into it.

Nah. Something was amiss, but we should just deal with it and move on. Umpires decision is final anyway so there's no use moaning.

Shouldn't let it detract from what was some excellent pom bowling, or the Broad fairytale end to his exceptional career. If you're good enough you'll overcome all these controversies and find a way. We weren't quite up to it but gave it a good crack. That's how it goes.
