Who would be your top 10 greatest Asian cricketers?

The greatest all-round cricketer to come out of Asia is undoubtedly Imran Khan. He was arguably the best bowler of his time, a more than adequate lower order batsman and a World Cup winning captain to boot. Numbers two and three would be Sachin Tendulkar and Muttiah Muralitharan; I don't think there would be too many disagreements there.

Numbers four-ten are trickier. I would go with Sunil Gavaskar at four. He was the best opening batsman of his time and was incredible against pretty much everyone.

Wasim Akram, Kapil Dev, Waqar Younis are again hard to split as cricketers. While Waqar and Wasim were considerably superior to Kapil as fast bowlers, Kapil's batting prowess does count for something, not to mention his World Cup win as captain. Numbers five, six and seven would, therefore, be Kapil Dev, Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis.

Number eight would be a toss up between Rahul Dravid and Javed Miandad. I would go for Rahul Dravid simply because I saw much more of him than I did of Javed Miandad. Not great reasoning, I know :)

Anil Kumble is the last man on my list. Aside from Muralitharan, I don't think Asia has seen a better spinner.

So, the ten greatest cricketers to come from Asia, in my opinion, are :

1) Imran Khan
2) Sachin Tendulkar
3) Muttiah Muralitharan
4) Sunil Gavaskar
5) Kapil Dev
6) Wasim Akram
7) Waqar Younis
8) Rahul Dravid
9) Javed Miandad
10)Anil Kumble

Who exactly are Pakistan's big 3?

Interestingly, you have Wasim ahead of Sachin. Reasoning?

Honestly i would put both of them at the same psoition, i just gave wasim the edge because while his bowling equals sachin’s batting, his secondary skill (batting) is superior which gives him a few points for being skilfull. Also he had a leaders aura due to his captaincy stints. (Think of murali vs warne and how warne comes slightly favourable due to his charisma)

but in all honesty i wouldnt debate it and put wasim and sachin as equals, both cut from the same fine cloth

They might get into the top 10 drop outs.

Also you have Rashid Khan in there. Is this a combined T20/ODI/test skills list?
rashid will be my wildcard controversial pick for this, but he is the reason why afghanistan is a relevant cricketing nation. Take him out and i believe afghanistan would be nepal tier.Something about this narrative speaks alot about his skillset as a cricketer to bring a nation up the ranks by himself. Being the biggest marquee player + Watching him bowl suceasfully in tandem with Warne + how he toyed with babar making him look like he never held a bat before (who i put as the best batsman in the past 3 years) just said something remarkable about him. I reckon playing for a new team like afg will not earn him the respect in mirror to his quality thats all

6-9 is hard to sort out. Top 5 and #10 I'm settled on. Waqar looks a bit high above Sanga.

As an English fan, these would be my personal picks

Sangakkara - just made batting seem easy without having to power the ball.
Akram - less for good exploits with Pakistan but I got to see a lot of him playing for Lancs on telly when growing up.
Ishant Sharma - got better and better as he got older, an example to follow of always seeking to improve.
Younis Khan - see Sangakkara
Dravid - never felt England had a chance unless they got Dravid out. Feared him more than the other great batters in that Indian lineup.
Babar - see Kumar, Younis. A Babar century is pure cricketing perfection.
MSD - greatest finisher of all time? I've seen many Indian fans denigrate him and he probably went on too long but his influence on Indian cricket has been enormous.
Virat up to c2020 - he has faded in recent years but for a while his record was incredible and looked like he might surpass Sachin's. Goat-level stroke player.
Malinga - pretty unique talent. Hard to imagine there will be a quick in T20 as unplayable as he was at his peak.
Sehwag - always a lot of chat about what he couldn't do in more challenging conditions overlooked what he could do, which was to be utterly dominant

Virat should be higher(behind Tendy,Imran, Murali, Akram, and along with Waqar and Sanga). Kohli is much closer to Gavaskar in tests than Gavaskar to him in ODIs Gavaskar did nothing in LOIs. And I say this giving a higher weightage to tests.
