Anil Kumble is the last man on my list. Aside from Muralitharan, I don't think Asia has seen a better spinner.
Pakistan’s big 3?13 years since last posted on this thread, wondering how much the current gen might have shaked up the list?
Measuring greatness based on quality/skill i would go:
a few more years and i can see pakistan’s big 3 pushing in
- Imran Khan
- Muttiah Muralitharan
- Wasim Akram
- Sachin Tendulkar
- Kumar Sangakkara
- Shakib al Hasan
- Waqar Younis
- Rashid Khan
- Javed Miandad
- Virat Kohli

noman ali, sarfraz ahmed and saim ayubWho exactly are Pakistan's big 3?
They might get into the top 10 drop outs.noman ali, sarfraz ahmed and saim ayub
Honestly i would put both of them at the same psoition, i just gave wasim the edge because while his bowling equals sachin’s batting, his secondary skill (batting) is superior which gives him a few points for being skilfull. Also he had a leaders aura due to his captaincy stints. (Think of murali vs warne and how warne comes slightly favourable due to his charisma)Who exactly are Pakistan's big 3?
Interestingly, you have Wasim ahead of Sachin. Reasoning?
That is horrific.1. Dhoni
2. Tendulkar
3. Muralitharan
4. Imran
5. Gavaskar
6. Kapil
7. Akram
8. Waqar
9. Ashwin
10. Sangakkara
rashid will be my wildcard controversial pick for this, but he is the reason why afghanistan is a relevant cricketing nation. Take him out and i believe afghanistan would be nepal tier.Something about this narrative speaks alot about his skillset as a cricketer to bring a nation up the ranks by himself. Being the biggest marquee player + Watching him bowl suceasfully in tandem with Warne + how he toyed with babar making him look like he never held a bat before (who i put as the best batsman in the past 3 years) just said something remarkable about him. I reckon playing for a new team like afg will not earn him the respect in mirror to his quality thats allThey might get into the top 10 drop outs.
Also you have Rashid Khan in there. Is this a combined T20/ODI/test skills list?
Sunil Gavaskar over Wasim and Murali in an all format 11?All formats combined, I say
1. Sachin Tendulkar
2. Imran Khan
3. Sunil Gavaskar
4. Muralitharan
5. Sangakkara
6. Kapil Dev
7. Wasim Akram
8. Waqar Younis
9. Ravindra Jadeja
10. Virat Kohli
He is the best test opener in history which I valued. But I agree that in all format top 10, he should go down to 9 or 10.Sunil Gavaskar over Wasim and Murali in an all format 11?
Virat should be higher(behind Tendy,Imran, Murali, Akram, and along with Waqar and Sanga). Kohli is much closer to Gavaskar in tests than Gavaskar to him in ODIs Gavaskar did nothing in LOIs. And I say this giving a higher weightage to tests. All formats combined, I say
1. Sachin Tendulkar
2. Imran Khan
3. Sunil Gavaskar
4. Muralitharan
5. Sangakkara
6. Kapil Dev
7. Wasim Akram
8. Waqar Younis
9. Ravindra Jadeja
10. Virat Kohli
