This innings a microcosm of series for both sides. Squandering advantages left right and center
Usually it's the other way around for us though; we get a semblance of a platform but the tail is blown away. This time we've very much been rescued by the Smith/Cummins partnership and now this

Nah it’s definitely been pretty even with throwing away the advantage for both sides. We threw it like twice yesterday they threw it away when they were like 3-180. Same today we was like 2-100 and thrown it away now Englands turn again giving the tail runs. That’s why both teams have rarely had a sizeable lead this series the first innings

Yeah it is oppo as to what has generally happened, although 100 odd for 1 was another time you didn't bat us out of the game even if the bowling was good straight after lunch.

It's been a good series as it's been exciting but I think the quality has been lacking at times. Feels like basically no one has been great, maybe Broad given his workload and Khawaja has been very good and lots of pretty meh players on display.

Yeah I've maintained from Edgbaston that comparisons to 2005 were inappropriate on the quality of cricket alone. Honestly this belongs more in the 2009/13 bracket; two flawed teams striving not to make more mistakes than the opposition.

It's really missed a Smith in 2019 or Broad in 2015 kind of outstanding quality that defines the series.
