the universal team kit bag across schools is a godsend in nz school sport. kids who could never afford gear can access pads, bat, gloves, helmet etc every saturday and it's normal. allows middle class parents to save a bit if they get a couple of things rather than the full set so everyone is using it.

Borrowed all that stuff except my box, which I wore onto the field as well.

From what I've seen there's no problem recruiting kids at the lower age groups. Allstars has been a big success and lots of parents love to get shot of their kids for a couple of hours on a Sunday morning. The children love it too. The problem is retaining players through the teenage years and successfully bringing them through into adult cricket.

This. The drop off at Club level is massive at 15-16 (When Youth ends, Exams start etc).

How do you even work out a points deduction for that? Do they have like a list of 10 points for this slur, 7 points for this one?

How did they work out Durham's punishment. You'd have to ask Graves and Bransgrove.

As whatever bollocks method they came up them has seemingly been used here too.

They've already gone, supposedly. Along with quite a lot of other players who felt that innocent staff were being scapegoated, as I understand it.

IDK whether heavy financial penalties are the way to go either. How would you impose those without any impact on the grassroots and outreach projects that might actually help players from Asian backgrounds come through?

Place the county under an independent auditor.
