Is this the Leach in your mind, or the Leach that averages 34.18 in Test cricket (Murphy averages 25.81)
TBF Leach has a far bigger sample size. I'm sure he could've averaged similar to Murphy if he had played in the same circumstances.

Still can't work this pitch out. Will 300 be a decent total? Should we have been bowled out for 150? There's certainly some life in it and chances have gone begging, but at the same time it's come off the bat nicely when you find the middle.

Think Murphy off is correct move, he looked pretty meh and kept dropping too short/too quick. Ball still doing just enough for seamers as well.

Yeah, it's definitely a "wait until both sides bowl on it" kind of wicket. Ball seems to be moving a lot more than it has in other Tests though at least.

Look up not down tbh. Ideal result for Australia would be that they bowl England out ten minutes before the rain comes, as it looks to be much brighter weather tomorrow.

The pace thing really surprises me. Maybe I'm just remembering it wrong but I don't remember him bowling that quickly in India. He just seemed to be rushing everything, including the ball.

Okay but legitimately, how do the same umpires who said it was too dark for fast bowling at OT think these conditions are fine for the same? It's hardly a problem from an Aus pov but it's totally inconsistent.

He looked nervous, which is pretty understandable.

Have had some rain water the lawn for about 10 minutes, I'm 4ish miles as crow flies from oval, has stopped and clearing quickly, confirm quite gloomy, but we aren't in the North, so its slightly brighter outlooks.

It's not exactly sunny any day of the Test, it'll probably keep moving about and there ought to be a result. Feels like 300 maybe par.

He’s being treated like **** & undoubtedly thinks that he has to keep the runs down to stay on

Cummins is a truly dreadful captain

How many times has Bairstow been out like that in his career? It must be an enormous amount.
