Philippines deserves the lead. NZ defence seemed a bit shambolic under any amount of pressure and didn’t seem to create much so far despite dominating possession.

Other than the goal disallowed for a marginal offside, New Zealand were just left floundering for a Filipino error which didn’t come.

Wouldn't be too critical - thought we were wildly unlucky in the second half not to equalise. Offside by a literal millimetre, hit the post, put a header just over the bar and a few other lesser chances. Even with Philippines sitting back we did break down their defense (unlike what happens when the mens team falls behind), just lacked final touch/luck. First half a lot less impressive obv and a bad goal to concede.

Well done Philippines though, they were unlucky to lose 2-0 to the Swiss (offside goal and conceded soft penalty).

I can't say I've watched too much of this tournament but did watch Brazil against a somewhat hapless Panama. More than anything, Brazil looked way too powerful physically for Panama, let alone superior technique. Sadly, a dreadful keeping error too.

Still feeling pretty deflated about NZ's loss, but I guess all we can do is give credit to the Philippines and hope that we somehow sneak a draw against Switzerland and make it through.

Meanwhile, Japan have been impressive again today.
