Cricket Podcasts

BARNES OUT
I've been delving a little deeper into Cricketing Podcasts of late now that I'm able to listen to podcasts at work. I've found that all of the recommended ones don't really scratch the itch I'm looking for. Namely;

- cover most (if not all) of the international cricket in reasonable detail
- are unbiased, or at least close to it
- are multiple times a week
- analytical / statistical focus
- solid production

All the ones I've found are focussed on a single nation or just painful to listen to due to blatant biases towards one country (usually Australia, England or India).

Would love some suggestions if any out there meet the criteria.

The Final Word is probably the least biased of the pig 3 podcasts.
Not actually listened but browsing through the feed it seem extremely focused on interviews and mostly AUS/ENG which is not really what I'm after. I'm not interested in guests and players etc, I want a more focused experience. Similar to something like Dunc'd On for the NBA or Rates and Barrels for MLB.

Whatever it takes!!!

Don't they do daily roundups of all pig 3 tests?

And if you are after analytics based ones, Jarrod Kimber is a good place to start.

I'm not even sure what you mean by "pig 3" but I did just say that I only looked at the feed, and not listened. You tell me.

In any case, I appreciate that the Ashes dominates all coverage but if I open a feed and see 25 ashes pods in a row and nothing about any other cricket going on I'm just not going to bother.

pig 3 = big 3 = Ind, Aus, Eng.

And yeah, as far as I have seen that podcast does daily roundups of tests involving any of Ind,Eng and Aus. They do, in general, watch and are aware of other cricket though and bring it up in the right context. They are reasonably well informed, follow the game across formats and teams and do a very cricket based analysis than jingoistic nonsense.

Like I said, for analytics based insights, Jarrod Kimber is probably the place to start.

And this has been a good Ashes, tbf, with a lot of talking points. So its natural it dominates most cricket podcasts. I have watched the Ashes games over the India-Windies test, in fact.

Crapinfo's "stumped" tries to talk about all cricket going on in general as well.

Red Inker and Double Century are quality

The Grade Cricketer and The Final Word are probably two of the best going around atm. Wisden's podcast and Tailenders are good but heavily focused on English cricket.

99.94 DM, also by Jarrod Kimber, has a variety of country-based cricket pods that can vary in quality. The West Indian one is good because the same guys do their own Caribbean Cricket Podcast anyways, but unfortunately there isn't much exciting news in WI cricket these days.

Yeah the Grade Cricketer is probably the best of the "two blokes talking ****" genre of cricket podcasts. Genuinely hilarious at times
