His final over, a maiden, yielded two more wickets as he finished with figures of 4-1-7-8. His spell left China 20 for 9 at the end of nine overs.

Ireland Secure place in 2024 T20 World Cup in Westindies & USA

Ireland became the first team to secure qualification at the ongoing T20 WC European Regional Final at Edinburgh as overnight rain put paid to any chance of play in the morning match at Goldenacre, where Ireland had been set to take on Germany in their penultimate match. The wash-out combined with earlier wins over Italy, Denmark, Austria and Jersey takes Ireland clear at the top of the table on 9 points, five clear of the rest of the field bar the likewise unbeaten hosts Scotland.


With two berths on offer at the Qualifier Ireland are thus assured of a place at the 2024 T20 WC, to be held in the West Indies and United States.
