Sarfraz Khan doesn't seem to be fit enough to play international professional cricket in this day and age so I understand his exclusion.


This Ishan Kishan thing is just a stupid idea, and I think shows how undervalued pure keeping skills are these days amongst selectors. They're trying to replace Pant, just like everyone was trying to replace a Gilchrist. But Gilchrist was a very good keeper. And with the depth India have in batting, plus their inexperienced fast bowling attack, they need a keeper who will hold on to catches and save runs way more than the 10 extra runs he may get over his replacement.

It's the baseball concept of VORP (value over replacement player). Kishan is negative if you factor his keeping.
