English Domestic Season 2023

Somewhat surprised given his good form this season however I dare say that he is expensive. The Rose Bowl incident mentioned above doubtless did not endear him either.

Similarly I don’t like to see excessive player movement if a player is a regular at his original county.
A surprise move - Lloyd from Glamorgan to Derbyshire just announced.

Just saw a clip of a Rory Burns dismissal & no surprise that he’s not doing well as his technique looks even worse

No idea why he doesn’t completely overhaul it

English Cricket is heading towards more elite counties. who will perhaps operate a more closed shop and have 1 relegation place instead of 2 in the CC
This isn't a new thing tbf. Talent has been drained from counties like Leics, Derbys and Worcs for years. Not necessarily to the richest counties, but those richest counties have been recruiting players from the next tier down who then seem to recruit from the tier below that. I'm sure Essex will be on the lookout for someone to replace Lawrence. After all, Critchley was a recruit from Derbys.

England looking to fast track Tawanda Muyeye's citizenship so he can play Tests. He's progressing nicely, hopefully he'll replace Crawley (who can then join Kent seconds).
Is that right his mother has been granted refugee status but he only has 5 year temp leave to remain. An asylum seeker may eventually be playing for England after being cherry picked through the asylum process?

Even if not from the right kind of family he did at least attend the right kind of school.

Durham sign their seventh overseas player this year. Is that right?
In CC
Kunhemann
Patel
Toole (unsure if overseas or not mind)
Pretorius

We had short term loans of Parkinson and Miles also.

Blast
Turner
Parnell

De Leede(All formats) and Glover(white ball) don't count as overseas and Bedingham was already on our books. Sowter(white ball) also not an overseas.

But a lot of overseas players even if they count or don't count. A mad turnover of players due to injuries and England call ups

But I thought irrespective if he was already on the books Bedingham was classified as overseas. Stubbs? Or did he not arrive?

I misread your post thought you said signings, my bad. Beds could have been England qualified but chose to chase South Africa which is fair enough.

Beds hasn't played a part in the blast as cos of lack of bowlers we had to sign Parnell. So beds missed out as Turner/Parnell picked.

Turner came back instead of Stubbs as the latter got picked for South Africa A.

Murphy was supposed to come at the start of the season instead of Kunehmann but he got injured. So we loaned Parkinson. Then Patel came in and his deal wasn't for the whole season so Parkinson came back on l Then Miles got loaned and he then he got injured and then we picked up Toole.

I dunno if this latest one to play alongside Toole or instead of him. Although apparently Murphy would have come in if not for Lyon injury.

Only reason we've gone through seamers is down to Carse/Coughlin and Potts injury or England.

So been a busy season of work for North on bringing in players.

Hopefully Durham can continue their good form with another win

Scenes at The Oval, where Joverton is making his first FC appearance of the season, presumably to turn his arm at some stage, and Sibley briefly had a SR north of 50%. Others can decide which of these was even less likely than the other.

Disappointingly, no sign of SCurran in the side today, or the promising Atkinson.
