2010-11 in Australia is the one great series he's had. Otherwise he's never really stamped his name on an ashes.

Anderson's had Lillee's career and then some besides.
Thing that keeps Anderson off the top tier is work away from home, fine, but that applies to tons of players and especially Lillee who never took a wicket in India or the West Indies and generally built his record entirely on playing in Australia and England.
In 2012-13 alone, Anderson played at 16 different grounds away from home. Lillee played at 14 in his career.
Away from home in the last 10 years Anderson has 126 wickets at 23. Lillee's away career is 124 wickets at 24.

If only Anderson had never played a test in India or Australia so his record could be more like Lillee's.

i am a noted anderson detractor but for a pacer who relies mostly on movement rather than raw pace or reverse that's... emintently reasonable? while it's not atg it's pretty damn solid and given he's toured there a couple of times he's had to earn his keepAnderson averages 29.33 in India in his best 10 years mate

Yeh i take it back, nothing insane, but overall in asia he still brings that average to 25 to Lillee’s disadvantage.

Anderson is better in Asian conditions but overall it will be Lillee

Anderson getting over a quarter of the vote is surprising. Not too long ago Lillee tied with Wasim on here. I don't see more than one or two votes going Anderson's way if he's against Wasim so either this poll has some trolling going on or public opinion on Lillee has swayed massively recently.
