*Official* Second Test (Lord's, London) 28 June–2 July

Archer isn't going to play tests. Stone isn't going to play tests. Wood has a year or two but will be injury prone and better away from home. Woakes likewise but is clearly out of favour. This should be Anderson's swansong. Broad may have a couple of years. A lot of responsibility on Robinson's shoulders now and he has to step up. Potts and Tongue need to be invested in, Sam Cook too. Anyone else? Mahmood if he stays fit. England need six bowlers in their early to mid twenties who need to be integrated into the team over the next couple of years.

Love the smug looks on the journos faces as they're placing their recording devices in front of him - he didnt give them the headlines I think they would have liked
Way too many ridiculous cheap shots and digs from the English press, they hardly talked about the game at all.
Anyway nice defence from Paddy who was totally on the back foot but ends up showing them the full blade with a smile to boot.

Not being funny but the Australian press replaced Stuart Broad with a silouhette and refused to use his name…because he didn’t walk

(btw my point here is that the media generally sux)

There are great cricket writers in the UK press. The problem lies with the sports writers at high profile events like the ashes. Antagonising for headlines while knowing sweet FA about cricket.

But, yeah, the media generally sux.

Pretty much an exact analogue, yeah. Banged in outside off, left alone, Collingwood walked down the pitch because it was the last ball of the over, and McCullum threw down the stumps. Umpires hadn't called over, 3rd umpire gave it out.

The only difference was McCullum's was more reactive whereas Carey's was clearly premeditated.
Probably mentioned by others but the big talking point about the Collingwood one wasn't that Baz had done it, but that Vettori called Collingwood back after the Sidebottom-Elliot collision run out of the previous year when Collingwood could've (but didn't) call Elliot back.

Valid points but Smith doesn't seem like the kind of guy who'd just stand idly by and ignore his roommate racially abusing a brown man.
Added points to Smith for playing in a team that won a WC Final by scoring more runs than the opposition

Serious question. I guess Marais Erasmus could've been a contender, but it was either going to be Smith or Ian Healy's underachieving nephew-in-law. Stokes and Duckett did well for the losing side.
Only one innings from the match will be talked about ten years from now and won’t be Smith’s

You know how much I hate the walking thing with Broad but I actually thought that was hilarious given it was so obviously tongue-in-cheek.
