Nonsense, there is really no reason why we can't move anyone up(Stokes, Bairstow, Pope, even Foakes) to open and they'll be as good/better than Zak, Then Foakes could come in, improves the side all-round, better batting, better catching.

stokes and mccullum are all in on Crawley despite his odd decent innings but mostly failure

Why would we want to drop Pope? His test stats are very respectable.
