Based purely on cricinfo commentary it sounds like Khawaja now bats exactly like Alastair Cook. Pulls everything that isn’t full but doesn’t get forward properly to the full ones.

In my experience, the keeper will tell first slip where to stand and it will be at the outer limits of the area he’s comfortable covering

If slip is forced to reach a long way towards the keeper for a catch, it’s generally a wk error
Root about to be fielding in front of Bairstow then.

Let’s be real, England are big favourites
I reckon not. Others have already pointed out that Moeen's injured, and Stokes only bowled a handful of overs in the first innings. And the pitch has looked pretty benign throughout. And all of that's before you consider our keeper's inability to do his job properly.

The last wicketkeeper to register three (or

more) stumpings in an Ashes Test was Alan Knott at Headingley in 1968.

Carey also 3 stumping*

Haha not the worst comparison tbh. Better to watch, though, and a lot of fun to watch against spin.

Meanwhile is anyone else getting a weird nighttime webcam on the C9 feed...?

at least Cummins has the excuse of no cricket for more than three months and a personal tragedy

Broad played county matches before the series
Broad doesn’t have a classic action & used to be quite inconsistent as a result

Probably one of those days where everything is not quite in sync

History is against Australia and we’ve already seen how this pitch livens up with a bit of cloud cover
