*Official* English Football Season 2022/23

Still think as long as Klopp is there Liverpool will be the next non-City team to win the league. But I think City will win again next year and IIRC that will be a first time ever 4 in a row.
City will obviously win the league every season until Pep goes , then maybe if pushed Newcastle are the most likely side to win it after that.

Newcastle winning a trophy would be horrendous. Their fans are braggarts at the moment but adding trophies no way

city, United, Liverpool, arsenal and Chelsea should ensure it doesn’t happen no matter how much money they have

Probably one of the most misunderstood people in football, grew up in a different era but has always came accross a decent bloke and while soe of his player analysis was absurd, he wasn't as useless as his criticis would say. Spot on the fraud that was Pogba for example.

Thing is re pogba. He does have a World Cup winners medal. Can’t be a fraud with one of them and he scored in the final

re Souness he was a great player but a disgraceful tackler if you look back on his career

what he has done by swimming the channel with his medical history though is truly inspirational

I watched Souness in person at various grounds during his career . If var had been around he would have been half the player . A master of the dirty tricks

I doubt it. Firstly because they haven’t won it every year under him up to now. Secondly because other great dynasties in the English league (United under SAF, Liverpool 70s/80s) still didn’t win it every year.

They’ll be the team to beat for some time but foolish to think every year is a foregone conclusion.

Three in a row and long odds on to make it four

check their last two months fixtures of the coming season , the usual ten or 11 consecutive wins are on again

however if Haaland was to miss six months that may even things up

I agree but he did have a really nasty side. I witnessed my self in a game where he took out a player with two feet in the midriff

it happened about ten feet in front of where I was standing back in the early 80s

I think I did say he was a great player as well though

Great thing Souness has done, but doesn't stop him being a thug on the pitch, a manager that ruined Liverpools boot-room to bring in the likes of Walters, Kozma, Stewart and Piechnik for loadsamoney and being a shite pundit.

Having said that he was a really good player despite his thuggish tendecies, and he'd have no doubt curbed his takling in todays football.

There's something incredibly dodgy about Chelsea being able to offload a bunch of duds to Saudi clubs, all of whom appear willing to pay utterly ridiculous salaries.

I’m not getting the Mount to United talk. I’ve mainly seen him play for England and I don’t see where he fits. Maybe as a backup for Bruno in an attacking midfield role? He isn’t going to be sitting deep or challenging Eriksen or Casemiro. I guess he could play forward with Bruno and a single DM but that hasn’t worked when tried at all.
Maybe it's one of those toss a famous name next to a famous club rumors that get slapped together to keep the gossip rags in print.
