It wasn't even a "I'm desperate for a wicket so why not" kind of review. My guess was that Boland wanted it out to be out so he begged Cummins to review it because he couldn't believe he had another wicket-taking opportunity.

Media says he's fit for the 1st test. Beyond that is uncertain
He hasn’t played for ages and won’t be match fit for any test as there’s no practice matches

Top bowler WHEN FIT but likely a wasted selection

I swear commentators can never resist just talking about how tall Green is. Even people who have never watched cricket in their lives can see that, say something interesting ffs.

If Boland has been available for a County contract then it’s basically been malpractice not to sign him for the last few years

He’s levels above someone like Kemar Roach in these conditions

Tbf there's some degree of randomness to any seam delivery.
Yeah definitely, but Boland and other good seam bowlers don't just run in and bowl "wobble balls" every ball. He definitely consciously tries to move some in and some out. Sometimes it doesn't happen for him, rarely it even happens in reverse and yes sometimes he deliberately bowls some that could be a lottery, but he's not just rolling the dice every ball.

Gotta say well done to the Indian selectors for picking Rahane. I thought it was a mad selection, but he has fully justified being picked. It will be interesting if they stick with him, or if a younger player replaces him.
if he shows capability to play spin well enough he should replace Kohli for next 2 years, can also be captain once Rohit breaks down inevitably

This isn't me being salty here but the commentators talking about how great Boland's (it wasn't) ball was and how good smith's catch was (it wasn't) and refusing to acknowledge that the batsman played a leeroy Jenkins drive to a ball that would've reached Steve Smith even if he'd left it is really annoying me. I'd have hoped gavaskar would be honest enough to tear into bad batting technique but he's just become another one of the 'never criticise Indian players' tribe.

Like, the ball to get Jadeja was so much better and they've barely talked about it ffs

Which is a point I have made before. When Asif bowled his ones that moved in from the off you could often see his release was subtly biased to do so.

Funnily enough Angus Fraser had an anecdote where Andy Caddick claimed he could control the direction of seam movement. Fraser asked Ambrose if he could (a 'wobbler' par excellence FTR) and Ambrose asked if Caddick could teach them that trick after the match, as he didn't know how.
