Well India still in this thanks to dire fielding, no balls and Smith's stupid shot

Whatever it takes!!!
Its funny that we managed to fight this hard. We were without our best batsman and best bowler of this WTC and we were missing 5 first XI players, one by choice. 🤦‍♂️

Last WTC felt a little more disappointing in that it seemed the elements conspired to make it conditions that are more suited to the opponent, but over here, injuries and lack of long format rhythm not withstanding, the thing that I am most disappointed by is the captaincy. There is no way nostrils should be playing ahead of Ashwin unless its a literal grasscourt like those 2002 NZ pitches. And once this XI was selected, it was even stupider that he did not use Jadeja from one end all through 9 or 10 over spells during the 2nd and 3rd sessions on day 1. Breaking down your fast bowlers is never a great idea.

For future reference, Shami is a luxury in England. Ideally, with everyone fit, I would go with Bumrah, Siraj, Shardul and Unadkat and once you see hotter summer days, Ashwin can come in for Unadkat.

It will be interesting to see what side we pick in the Windies. I hope we try some new players, esp, if Rahul is still injured. Wonder if a 11 like this will work?

Jaiswal

Jaddu (vc)
Ash (c)
Ishan (wk)

My special wish to steven smith to score as many run as possible in Ashes he need 53 more to joins G.Smith & Amla in "9000 Club"

Smithy(31*) just beat M.Hayden (30 century)
His next 100 (if he get one) he will equal with s.waugh for 32 test century.

TMS probably just makes everyone more bearable, but Langer's been perfectly alright the last couple of times I've heard him. Even caused a few good laughs.

I'm greatly enjoying the lack of Vaughan, been a good roster this test. Finn's quietly decent. Missing Mitchell though.
