*Official* World Test Championship Final at The Oval – June 7–11, 2023

Gave it away. Should have been looking to pound them into the dirt.
100% agree. I know it's hard to criticise a guy who is on 160 and that's the way he was playing, but he's well rested. Not only thrown away a huge score but also on the brink of demoralizing India.

Most runs scored at The Oval by a visiting batsman :

1.Sir Don Bradman
553 runs @ 138.25 in 4 matches

2.Steven Smith
501 * runs @ 125.25 in 4 matches

3.Alan Border
478 runs @ 79.66 in 4 matches

4.Bruce Mitchell
448 runs @ 112 in 3 matches

5.Rahul Dravid
443 runs @ 110.75 in 3 matches

Steve Smith is about 50 runs away from the Don's record at the Oval , it's taken 75 years for anyone to get this close..If Smith doesn't do it we might not see anyone break it in our lifetime.
Underrated bloke.

He's completely incompetent at playing anything at his body. Even the short ones he hit to the boundary were thanks to him premeditating them and backing away to give himself room. Any decent bowling plan and he shouldn't be getting to 30

I still haven't figured out how bowlers let Travis Head make 150+ when he clearly can't play ball on his hip
If england bowl there from the start he'll still make hundreds. He's invincible. I don't even know if Anderson and Broad can get the ball to hip height these days anyway.

The Bradman record that really counts is the headingley one anyway. He scored more runs there than any English player has managed, let alone more than any foreign player.

Driving like that is a risk for anyone early in the innings but Green's also fighting his anatomy if his feet are going to be stuck like that. Nowhere near that one.

All records count ..Even Shai Hope can boast that nobody else got two hundreds in a FC match at Headingley ..To break even one of Sir Don's record is special .
