Remember last home season when Head had a test strike rate of nearly 100 against SA then went back to BBL and struck at about 65? Golden summer
Was bizarre for sure.

Not new to him though. Can remember a couple of occasions where he has came back to play for Tea Tree Gully and not made runs despite playing some excellent innings for the SACAs at about the same point in time

His test average is five runs higher than his fc one. Weird areas

A little bit of that (certainly not five runs worth of difference though) can be explained by his early FC days, being a teenager picked in a weak batting lineup isn't the easiest circumstances to start your career in. Has gradually got better and better with every passing year, but even at the very start there was enough there to see he was talented

EDIT: @TimAngas pretty much beat me to it

Probably down to his spell at Sussex where he averaged about 45 runs less than his Test one (yes, I'm still bitter about it).

Anyway, this is now abysmal stuff from India, if you're gonna bowl short to Head, at least have a field to support it.

Golden summer incoming

Ok. If Smith is going to prevail after three hours of him hanging in there, at least make him play attacking shots. Bowling rank full balls like that for him to clip off his pads is surrender.

Wild that it took until he got to 93 before Rohit bothered with a third man for Head
For some reason the Indian team management hate having a third man. They bled half their runs there in the SA tour. Probably some weird aversion to wanting to not be seen as negative or something. One would think Dravid of all people would be able to explain to Rohit how valuable a scoring area it can be in England.

Locals in london in singlets while Ussie stands in the sheds in a beanie and dressed like he’s going to look for Shackleton’s Endurance. I suppose that’s relativity.
