Why do IPL franchises seem to hate phillips so much? SRH give him a game, he slaps 25(7), wins the game, gets MOTM, then get's dropped 1 game later after getting out to an unplayable ball and taking 1-10 from his two overs. He's criminally underused and I don't get why cause he's one of the best t20I bats in the world, can keep, is one of the best outfielders in the world and can give you overs occasionally.

They are probably confused as to what his role is in the team.

Remember when Brook scored a ton at opener and won them a game? Moved him to the middle order and then dropped him.

Having Markram as skipper is a problem because he's not one of their best 4 foreign players.

I mean tbf brook got 4-5 games as an opener an either side of that 100 he looked clueless, can't blame them too much their.

The really frustrating thing with SRH is that on paper they had one of the best squads coming out of the auction. Solid Indian top 3 in abhishek, Mayank and triparthi, solid Indian pace options in bhuvi-Umran-natarajan, a gun overseas 4-5-6 of makram-brook-klassan with Phillips as a backup and a gun Indian all-rounder in Sundar. Spin was probably their weakest department coming in and that was the one area they actually exceeded or met expectations in with Markande doing really well.
