Coz its the result of a batsman's stroke/shot.Doesn’t make sense to me
He could have had a semblance of a case if he acted as if it was a throw gone wrong. But as always with SehWAG, subtlety is not in his wheel-house. He actually kicked it to go past the boundary.Didn't Sehwag try that one time to keep a guy on strike or something?
I think Hutton did that once as well. I think it was to keep the tail-ender on strike rather than to save runs though.Didn't Sehwag try that one time to keep a guy on strike or something?
Oh he seriously did that.He could have had a semblance of a case if he acted as if it was a throw gone wrong. But as always with SehWAG, subtlety is not in his wheel-house. He actually kicked it to go past the boundary.
I believe because one is an "accident" and the other isn'tHere’s another for the sake of argument
What is the difference between a misfield that goes for 4 whilst the batsmen are running and an actual overthrow?
Like what is the technicality that makes an overthrow an overthrow and not just a misfield?
Yeah as per L&L's post - "wilful act"I believe because one is an "accident" and the other isn't
That's why if the batsmen are going to run 5 you can't just kick it over the boundary to keep it to 4 (which would be the obvious thing to do otherwise)
This would be awesome. It would bring in the skill of hitting the slowest 4 possible and promote bigger boundaries. For the sake of argument, why are runs, er, run before overthrows treated differently to those run before the ball reaches the boundary from the bat?
Does the OP not mean why are the runs given to the batsman and not counted as extras. If it were just a 4, you could in theory save runs where the batters have already run a lot by throwing it deliberately over the boundary.
is it just me that has been missing the days of the boundary literally being the advertising boards themselves? This would be awesome. It would bring in the skill of hitting the slowest 4 possible and promote bigger boundaries.
causes injuries to fielders when try to slide/dive. That is one acceptable reason for bringing n the boundaries AFAIC.is it just me that has been missing the days of the boundary literally being the advertising boards themselves?
don't dive near the board then!causes injuries to fielders when try to slide/dive. That is one acceptable reason for bringing n the boundaries AFAIC.
also we wouldn't have any of this catch the ball, throw it back in and catch it again nonsensedon't dive near the board then!
