Was going to say he's injured himself out of the Pakistan tour but I'd misremembered and it's Cleaver (and Seifert) on that tour instead. Seems like selectors use a random number generator to decide which of Cleaver and Fletcher get the nod as backup wicketkeeper on any given tour in any given format.

Probably a fair reflection on the overall state of NZ cricket that a bowling attack that isn't far from being a genuine shadow test attack was utterly ineffective, while a batting lineup short of 4 or 5 first choice players generally gave a pretty good account of themselves.
