Sure, but most people would say Australia are better too, save for one very obvious exception (Smith).
Thats a pretty significant exception tbf considering Smith was basically Bradman in that series.

But I totally agree with your general point. Both sides are much improved and I think this should be a ripping series.

Main concern is smith. He looks out of form. Whether that will carry thru the year is hard to predict. He's made statements saying he is nearly ready to retire, so may be the hunger is going.

Since 2019, England have discovered a few players eg Duckett at top, Ollie pope and of course Brook who is the modern day Bradman incarnate. So it's a significantly better side. Anderson is a lot fitter now. The backups are excellent in Ollie stone, Archer and Wood

Brook's side

International Regular
Cook
Strauss/Trescothick
Bell/Trott/Vaughan
Root
Pietersen
Prior
Flintoff
Cork (Stokes if fully fit)
Swann
Broad
Anderson

Brook's side

International Regular
Hameed
Duckett
Malan
Brook
Shah/Bopara/Ballance/Key
Foakes
White/Curran
S Jones/Tremlett/Archer
Robinson
Roland-Jones
Rashid

England supporters still trying to convince themselves they’re a shot. It’s cute.

This won’t even be close - Aus to sweep it unless weather intervenes.

Has a side ever had a streak of losing the away-Home streak of an ashes 9-0 (weather permitting)? This England side breaking all the wrong records if so. .....

It's sweet that they have this absolute belief in a batting order despite the last 20 years of evidence, coz you know...Hobart.

I mean, we've been questioning Head's efforts outside Australia, but he's got a better average in England than Warner and Khawaja. How is Uzzie gonna suddenly start to work out English pitches at the age of 37? Oh, but he's good on Pakistani roads......turns out even Zak Crawley is too!!

5-0, we don't do draws! Maybe 4-1 if we screw up another follow on.

If Khawaja could somehow turn from the worst player of offspin in the country to being the star batsman on raging turners then anything's possible

Why aren't you guys gambhiring, ffs? Both Burgey and England are completely wrong – seem to be mostly correct about their own side's merits, but utterly ignorant of how good the other is.

Easily. Englands top 3 will be setting their pants when Cummins walks up to his mark first ball of the first test.
