Yes, true thatMan SA test side would’ve been goood if he stayed there
He would have been made occasional appearances at best, might not have even got a single gameMan SA test side would’ve been goood if he stayed there
Wait and watch when he returns to open the batting and be a modern-day great!Gavin Main may have had 14 matches but only 4 innings. That’s not a valid sample for a lower order player.
Because it wasn't good at that time?Man SA test side would’ve been goood if he stayed there
Better than good. Goood.Because it wasn't good at that time?
ABdV as a test opener is mind bogglingIt would have been RTD or Ashwell Prince, or perhaps both and ABDV could've stayed as a test opener instead.
Just shows how pointless ODI stats are these daysPlaying 10 matches and more, and their last match was played this year...also, an average of 50+
RTD'S average is 67.00 in 33 matches
Next,
Shubman Gill: 65.55 (24 matches)
van der Dussen: 63.00 (43 matches)

Gavin Main: 82.00 (14 matches)
Sanju Samson: 66.00 (11 matches)
Joe Root: 50.05 (158 matches)
I know this is a bit late, but you should emphasise fast fast as fst. Making it be something like faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaast is actually kind of slow. It's a shame Andre van Troost never played international cricket for the Dutch. Sure he wasn't really that good, but he was damn faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaast and that is enough for the vast majority of assosciate batsman to be all at sea.
Most likely scenario is RTD has a similar career to Justin Ontong, Albie Morkel or Justin Kemp. Can't see him having a decent test career if he stayed in SA.It would have been RTD or Ashwell Prince, or perhaps both and ABDV could've stayed as a test opener instead.
