Waste Indies as usual persisting with trash like O. Smith, R. Shepherd. No surprises there. When will they realize that Jason Holder is not a ODI bowler? ( That was a rhetorical question..the answer is NEVER):D
S. Hope will continue to remain a mystery for me. Such class and grace in ODIs and falls apart like pack of cards in Tests. Might have been a decent captain but I guess will never know as at any given point, half of the WI squad is made up of pure trash that won't even make it beyond club level cricket in other countries.
Poor bowling by Carih A spinner & poor Fielding placement by Hope. 6Th wkt Record partnership by klassen & Jansen

If you are Westindies Supporter i have bad news for you. Westindies on # 8 in Super league table now with 88 point.

Netherland will play 2 Super leage Matches vs SA ( SA now 78 or so points ) if they win 2/0 they will pips out Westindies with 98 points

SA will be 8th team by april 2nd
Sri lanka & ireland still 3 matches each left to be play but both on Thin ice i doubt they can get direct entry (so westindies/ Netherland/Srilanka/Zimbabwe (host)& ireland must need to participate in
Qualifiers from june 18-july 9.)

Brainless batting, Miller is out ..is it a T10 game ?
Why so many shots in the air ..Long tail over 100 runs to go, you have to bat smarter than this no wonder we are struggling to qualify for ODI WC
They seem to have lots of confidence in Jansen and it been borne out so far.

But it’s also clear that the coaching has decided that the aggressive way is the best. Copying England. Don’t agree but if you gonna do it these are the games to do it in. As close to practice games you gonna get.

Whilst Pomnotenglish comes up with the usual anti West Indies vitriol (note you were quiet after the 2nd ODI), I do agree with some of the specific points.

We are persisting with some substandard all rounders like Odean and Cariah. Terrible selection by Haynes and Butcher. We need to freshen up the attack to support Alzarri and Akheil.

What a bizarre chase.

South Africa's Run-rate of 8.95 today was their best ever in a successful ODI run-chase of 200 or more, bettering their 8.78 from the world-record 435-run chase (438/9 from 49.5 overs) against Australia at the Wanderers, Johannesburg in 2006.

STAT: Best ODI strike-rates for SA (min. 1,000 runs):
Heinrich Klaasen: 104.05
David Miller: 102.17
AB de Villiers: 101.27
Farhaan Behardien: 97.90
Quinton de Kock: 96.43

Yeah not sold that SA have a root or Morgan who can go at run a ball in the middle overs or the bar depth to be that successful with England's approach to ODI cricket, but should be exciting either way.

South Africa is in the rare position of having competent spin bowling all rounders as well as batsmen who have experience in the conditions to back up their gun pace men but has somehow managed to **** it all up. A full strength SA side like:

Bavuma
De Kock
Markram
Van Der Dussen
Rossouw
Miller
Linde
Maharaj
Rabada
Ngidi
Nortje

would certainly be in contention for a top 4 spot but instead they've both excluded their best medium term players to 'plan ahead' and not actually done any planning ahead. It's genuinely bat**** that they've plainly given up on trying to win the upcoming WC.
thats only two players away from their usual xi atm

And Klaasen is actually gun too.

I'm just mad Linde isn't around before a WC in India, lol.
would it make sense to have both him and Maharaj as part of the same five bowling attack? even if they bowl slightly differently at the end of the day its two left arm spinners which cuts down flexibility

Lower order batters who can bowl their quota are gold dust right now considering the WC. 24 or so potential overs between Linde, Maharaj and Markram would be pretty gun.
