*Official* New Zealand domestic season 2022/23

I do find it kinda extraordinary, though, that Mariu is 21 before provincial debut (in any format).

I dont have opinions on his talent/technique as a youth. But was solid numbers at U19s and seems to have been good numbers at Hawke Cup and Canterbury A level every time I've seen their games come up on NZC scoring.

Other weird one is Wheeler-Greenall. In that he looked by far the best batter in that U19s, and Otago is so weak. But admittedly, he hasn't seemed to excel at all for Otago A. If he even gets a spot in Otago A teams.

Good too see more U19s coming through. From the South African U19 world cup semi-finalist squad we can now put ticks beside Mariu, Keene, Ashok, Field and Kris Clarke.

Ben Pomare and Fergus Lellman made their first class debuts for ND last season when they had a lot of guys missing. Quinn Sunde made his debut for Akl and scored a 50 a couple of weeks ago. Lellman is playing this round. Jesse Tashkoff is debuting this round. Wheeler-Greenall has played a couple of T20 games for Otago in Super Smash.

Now the plunkett shield is back in full flow who has the potential to step up to international level from those recently competing . Been a few standout performances with bat and ball .

It is curious how good Sean Davey's career record is. From, admittedly, very very few games.

Same age U19s group as Duffey, Sodhi, Will Young etc. So almost 30.

Not debuting in red ball until he moved to Canterbury, and even since then been spasmodic in appearance.

Not domestic level, but impressive figures in Super 8 school's cricket! Gotta say though, as an ex-RBHS first XI player I'm not too shocked, we never were particularly good.
I thought this guy (Rowe) looked really good in the U17 tournament, from the available camera angle. Both he and Clarke (Otago) looked way faster and better than all the U19 opening bowlers (except Hart) from the earlier tournament.

Nuttall ruins the potential 10fer

Shame the A squad has been announced. This is the kind of spell that should get you a look in.

Edit: thought this posted earlier. Boo. Second 7fer for Davey this season?

Heh, so amidst the 7-in-7 and 100 out of 145 (FC record 143: Clive Rice and some Pak no-name), every wicket was from the far end.
