Amongst the current bowlers, you’d have to say Bracewell, Shipley and Duffy are the ones who probably most deserve a shot. It’s baffling that SK got the nod over Bracewell given he doesn’t even offer a significant upside on the batting.

GW Southee.

Wait did the ground announcer just forget Hadlee and announce Southee as the highest test wicket taker for NZ?

Oh I see, it's top wicket-taker in international cricket, all formats. Also happened to overtake Vettori to second on the test list at the same time.

Anyway, vital wicket as that's 3 of SL's big 4 batsmen gone.

Interesting that DDS is in ahead of Dickwella; the latter has had more success against NZ.

Mathews WAG. Just needs a mere ~4800 more runs to get up to second on SL's test list.

Amazed we're still in this game despite Wagner+Tickner, but good work Henry. Bowling SL out for not much more than 300 is now on the cards.

Concern for NZ is that the ball is still doing a lot. The Matthews of 10 years ago would have bowled well on this surface.
