Tbf Flower only played 18 months longer in Tests. He’s associated a little too much with the 90s, rarely played top sides or in pace-orientated conditions. I still voted for him here though.

Not convinced Flower is overly proven against pace. He’s better than KP but I would not be comfortable rating him over someone like Crowe or Lloyd etc.

I suspect many struggle to separate the personality from the player, nor could I blame them. I don't think Flower had a long or varied enough career to fairly compare him and KP. He only played two tests in England, one in SA and none in Australia but was obviously great in Asia.

KP is perhaps a bit harder to assess in the usual way. He was a scorer of all time great innings more than an all time great run-scorer. If I was to compile a list of best innings by an English player in my lifetime, KP could easily fill most of the slots.

Dominated in and against India for sure.

Lol. Hardly a prerequisite to be considered a good/great player. Especially against 90s/early 2000's India.

I was too at first but Pietersen is very highly regarded in Australia (they make up a big percentage of active CW) and Flower isn’t as proven against pace as a Martin Crowe or a Clive Lloyd.
