That's a bit harsh on Klaasen. He has a first class average of 47.24, so is able to make the side as a specialist bat.
He is old never done it when it counts in one dayers or t20s ints don't see him doing it in tests, he is like the afrikaans AEE pick lols coaches favourite.

He can bat these stats say batting 7 bowling 4 or 5. like mulder except mulder should be a better 7.
An average of 31 at fc level isn't good enough to be batting 7 in tests, particularly when your team has a weaker batting lineup.

Mulder is good enough to try bat at 5 or 6 and have the keeper bat 7.imho
Yet to get a 50 in any format for South Africa, would be a big risk to play him at no.5 or no.6 we don't play enough tests to take that risk in test series , he needs to show he can score runs at no.7 first then move up the order if he gets a run in the side .

Shukri said he prefers klaasens batting.
I thought he'd said that he preferred Klaasen as a keeper, but I've checked the quote again and it could be taken either way.

I've always viewed him as a wicketkeeper-batter, so for me it was a straight shootout as to who I wanted. And that's Klaasie.

Is it a good idea for Jansen to stay out there if they have to bandage his finger? I know it's less of an issue with it being his right hand, but it's not like he's a well-set top order batsman.

Jason Holder's strike rate with the KK. Has anyone ever been so extraordinarily dependent on ball materials? Chris Woakes probably I guess.

He certainly wouldn't have had the nice 2018-2019 peak playing in the 2000s and would probably be remembered as a bits and pieces batting AR. Could see him averaging 35 with the bat due to how flat WI was in that period. They did play Australia more in those days though which wouldn't help.
