I will have De Villiers keep and play Aubrey Faulkner too instead of Boucher.

I will not go for De Villiers as he was not really experienced enough only 45 innings he did Wicket Keeping and Aubrey Faulkner is from WW1, I just avoid old players if I can built a great team with new players.

South Africa has a perfect team 2 World Class Openers, A Stable and Consistent No 3, 2 Amazing Middle Order Players, A Highly Experienced Wicket Keeper, A Batting and a Bowling All Rounder, A Good Spinner, 2 Great Fast Bowlers and a Great Captain.

West Indies is not so perfect as they don't have a specialist spinner but this team is much more dangerous, 2 Attacking Openers, A Legendary No3 and No4, A Reliable No 5, Best Wicket Keeper for pace bowling, A batting Allrounder who can be a good spinner, 4 Famous Quartet which will give sleepless nights and a great captain.

Given that South Africa don't have a spinner of the caliber of a Warne or Murali, WI can afford to play Gibbs ahead of one of the pacemen. And no AI all time team is going to include Lloyd ahead of Headley or Kanhai. Lastly, Hunte over Gayle:

Greenidge
Hunte
Headley
Viv*
Lara
Sobers
Dujon+
Marshall
Garner
Holding
Gibbs

I went for Gayle as he was a part time spinner who along with Sobers can fill the void of a specialist spinner, Kanhai was a very good no3 player but Viv Richards and Lara can exchange that position as both had a great record at No3. Headley was a great No3 player but except Bradman i don't consider other players seriously in an all time XI if i have some one post 1970s who can fill their position.

But all your suggestions makes very good sense as Headley, Kanhai were very good No3 players and Richards, Lara can come at No4 and No5. I may stick to Lloyd as he had more Test series wins and World Cups compared to Richards as captain (had more draws)

I don't want to loose the pace quartet
Marshall, Garner, Ambrose all Avg 20-21
Holding 23+
In Pitches that are extremely suitable for Spinners i may go for Gibbs.

West Indies Lost only 2 Series from March 10th 1976 to April 22nd 1995

1978 West Indies in India lost to India 0-1 (They lost the match in which Holding, Roberts, Garner, Croft, Marshall were absent)
1980 West Indies in New Zealand lost to New Zealand 0-1 (They lost the match by 1 Wicket and due to Great Performance from Richard Hadlee as he took 5 Wickets in first innings and 6 Wickets in Second Innings and poor performance from West Indies batting)

So in Conclusion West Indies Pace Quartet never failed for 19+Years in World Cricket

Hugh Tayfield took 170 Wkts in 61 Inns at an Avg of 25.91 which is 2.79 Wkts per Inns
Shane Warne took 708 Wkts in 273 Inns at an Avg of 25.41 which is 2.59 Wkts per Inns

So Tayfield was a great spinner in 1950s

I will take Kirsten as he had an Avg 70+ at No3 and was very consistent in 90s in almost every nation.
Kirsten only batted at 3 in 10 matches (14 innings). If you're ruling out De Villiers as a keeper based on insufficient matches then surely that rules out Kirsten at 3? And Richards, and Pollock at 5...

Kirsten was an opener for most of his career so if he comes at No 3 it won't make much difference. Wicket Keeping is a very important skill and very tough so its better to have a keeper who is more experienced as leaving one or two catches can be very costly in a Match. Pollock no4 coming at no5 also doesn't make much difference.

Stats

-Among the current West Indies squad, Kraigg Brathwaite, Gabriel, Blackwood and Holder were part of the side that played their last Test in South Africa. The hosts, on the other hand, had Bavuma and Simon Harmer in their XI.

-South Africa have won 24 of the 27 Tests they have played at SuperSport Park in Centurion. The venue had last hosted a drawn Test way back in December 2009.

- South Africa have lost just two of the last 11 Tests played at the venue, dating back to 2011. The losses came against Australia in 2014 and India in 2021.

- Kagiso Rabada is one five-wicket haul away from matching Vernon Philander's tally

- Among active West Indies cricketers, only Roston Chase (8 for 60) and Shannon Gabriel (8 for 62) have better bowling figures for an innings than Gudakesh Motie (7 for 37),
