Impressive innings by Cummins; reckon after 1st Test disaster he decided nor only to step up as leader with the ball but with the bat.

Most purposeful he's looked with the bat in ages.

No. This is still a bowling friendly wicket and very difficult for a new bat to play on, and will get worse as the match goes on. But easier than the last test. The odd ball definitely misbehaves.

India scoring 400 would need a couple of their bats playing exceptional knocks.
I just can't shake off the feeling that we are clutching at straws in saying that 250 is a good score for Australia..
Axar Patel is coming in at no.9 for crying out loud.

Pat about to join Marnus in the ranks of the "belted to death with a stump for being beaten on the inside edge."

Not great signs if Murphy is batting ahead of Kuhnemann. Surely Lyon should bat nine in this outfit and try to slog a few before the others come in to try and block around Handscomb if he's still there.

We'll see but this pitch looks like it could be way more to Cummins and Lyon's liking than the first one. There's some very nice bounce outside the right handers off stump which will suit their style of bowling.

Australia is dominating position now . anything above 250 and they are going to win this game
How though ? India made 400 in the first game and batted once, if anything India's batting line up has gotten stronger with Shreyas Iyer at no.5 , and there's only one seamer to worry about , Australia are banking on two rookie spinners to outbowl Ashwin and Jadeja ..Talk of winning is a long way off imo

Don't know why Lyon is coming in behind Murphy; Murphy looked pretty ordinary as a batsman so far and Lyon usually gets a few runs.

How bad is Khunemann if he's coming in two spots below Murphy?
