Worst Selections of All Time

Todays shocker from NZC (in selecting the abhorrent **** pheasant Kuggs) got me thinking about what are the absolute worst selections we've ever seen. Whether due to being injured pre-match, woefully below Test level or someone that should sooner be in gaol than on a cricket field, who is the worst ever?

Say his name
Doug Bracewell - 2015/2016.

After a stellar and historic debut series in 2011, over the next few years proved he wasn't a Test level player. Neither doing enough with the ball in the air, or being quick enough to trouble Test batsman even in the favourable conditions found in NZ for dibbly dobbly swing bowlers. It was clear even as early as late 2012, that the experiment was over. Doug simply was not a Test cricketer.

You could perhaps defend his continuing selection in 2013 but after only taking a pathetic 8 wickets in 5 Tests that year. It seemed his career for the Black Caps was over.

And yet he was recalled not once, but twice.

First in 2015 where he continued to suck averaging 40, and finally in 2016 where after taking only 5 more wickets in 3 Tests that was the last we saw of him.

Still NZC flirts with a recall. Many kiwis suspect nepotism playing a huge role in the bizarre affinity for D Bracewell.

And yet, even I would rather he played today than ****ing Kuggs

Remember the West Indies player strike?

Every WI player in that B team probably deserves a mention except for the unironically awesome Darren Sammy.

Haha this was also where Nikita Miller (CPL h4x) played his one and only Test match. Took 0 wickets though. One of the batsman has to be the worst selection overall though and theres plenty to choose from. The top 7 more or less never played a Test again after this series

Floyd Reifer in that match Athlai mentioned with West Indies B probably takes the biscuit.

[excluding moral considerations[

Man I had forgotten this one! He was picked to join the squad in Perth and was cited as having 'local knowledge', because he was playing for WA. Then he actually debuted in Sydney at a ground where he'd never played a first class match. Incredible stuff.
This brought it back
