It was such a confident overrule. No looking at it from different angles or anything, gave it immediately. I could understand the third umpire agreeing had it been given on the field but this was very odd. NZ are going to get hammered so it's probably moot but a shocker nonetheless.

I don't think she understood the protocols of soft signal. This was a blatant ignorance of it.

There's a case to say get rid of it because it usually just goes with the on field decision, which is probably partly guesswork in those scenarios. But on the balance of probability you couldn't possibly give any catches like that out.
