Yeah, looks horrible but it's weirdly well played cos he wasn't drawn to the turn. I think it's something Aus have tried to adjust to with their batting in the SC - you play for nothing unusual rather than massive spin, and if you get cleaned up by one that does a shitload, then too bad.Almost got bowled there
Yeah, it's basically demanding the bowler to bowl the perfect ball - which Jadeja is definitely capable of, tbf - rather than just a straight nothing ball that you somehow miss Mitch Marsh style.Yeah, looks horrible but it's weirdly well played cos he wasn't drawn to the turn. Sort of a percentages thing. You're more likely to get done on the inside edge to a ball pitching there if you play for big turn than you are playing normally and having one go sideways and clean you up. It's pretty easy to get spooked into anticipating big movement when you aren't used to it.
Has he looked good so far? This is a big tick on Marnus' CV so far.
Very. I guess I should be happy given I am one of the earliest to back him here.Has he looked good so far?
Only because that kind of old school partnership batting isn't especially common in the game now tbf - it's all about dictating the tempo of the game with the bat, rather than letting the bowler dictate and absorbing everything they throw at you, taking your own chances when presented rather than manufacturing something on your own initiative.Weird day when scoring is happening in patches.
24 off 5. Then 29 by 15. Then 50 by 20. And now 57 by 24.
As good as any recent touring batsman to India, looked much more comfortable than even Smith so far.Has he looked good so far?
He has his ideas, usually. Needs to get the ball to break back in appreciably to challenge them though.I don't think anything will happen from this angle from Ashwin. Come and bowl over the wicket bruh
Which ones are Victorians here? This has been a nice little fight back but Aus have gone against the Golden Rule of Only One Victorian here so likely screwed
That's not overly surprising, Smith quite often looks uncomfortable in somewhat challenging conditions from what I've seen, he just has an uncanny ability not to get out which is credit to his ability to forget the previous delivery.looked much more comfortable than even Smith so far.
He's caused Marnus problems recently with this angle with his straighter ball. It's not turning much for that to be a real threat atm though.I don't think anything will happen from this angle from Ashwin. Come and bowl over the wicket bruh
