i am hesitating a bit not to take atleast 3 allrounders in the era of 4 allrounders in Imran, Kapil, Botham, Hadlee
Add in Marshall who can bat too. With my penchant for all-rounders, I would love to see that era team like this.

1) Barry Richards/ Simpson/Boycott
2) Gavaskar
3) Viv Richards
4) Greg Chappell
5) Border
6) Botham
7) Imran(c)
8) Knott(wk)
9) Kapil
10) Hadlee
11) Marshall
12th man: Procter

Have Viv and Border take up the spin duties.

There are people outside who are saying Anderson is the best pace bowler of all-time but here in CW, he struggles to get into a decade team.
Anderson definitely in England but not outside England. He took 400+ wickets with an average of 23 only in England which is a Great job.

Just checked the Stats Anderson took 429 wickets at an average of 23.79 with 24 five wickets in England Woooooow
but outside England 224 wickets at an average of 31.16 with 8 five wickets not good.

will prefer underwood over bracewell as his away record sucks

Yes, Underwood is obviously the better spinner. I just tried going for the better bat.
as we take only one spinner don't want to take risk as he will bowl more than 20 overs per day Underwood will be better.
can you also prove me why botham was better than Kapil as a bowler ? i agree he was a better batsmen.

I agree it is very marginal. Except for India, in most of the other countries, Botham has done better than Kapil as a bowler. But that is a moot point here since when you have Marshall, Imran and Hadlee as the top 3 pacers in the side, you will want the 4th pacer to be someone who is a better bat, where Botham fits in.

Most important point in the discussion who is better bowler Kapil Dev or Ian Botham ?

1) Greenidge - i opener has to be a bit aggressive so will go for him
2) Gavaskar - mandatory
3) Richards - mandatory
4) Chappell - very good batting record and was also successful in World series cricket
5) Border - Leadership qualities and a run machine
6) Botham or Kapil - "i will taken anyone based on their better bowling record"
7) Imran - mandatory
8) Hadlee - mandatory
9) Marshall - mandatory
10) Knott- wk - mandatory
11) underwood - better than others so will go with him
Miandad will come if border or chappell or richards need some rest, Lillee ( i want him badly but don't know how)

Botham had better Average in India compared to Kapil Dev. Botham's biggest negative point was he had a bad bowling record of 39.50 in West Indies on the other hand Kapil dev had his best average of 23.11 in west indies.

Botham was a better bowler imo. Definitely better at his peak, which is a clear seperating factor for me when career records are so comparable.

If you want Lillee drop Botham/Kapil. You get a far better bowler than either and you still have batting down to 9. Simple as that.

hehehe yeah may be will go with your logic
Opening bowlers " Lillee, Marshall"
3rd bowler Hadlee
4th and 5th bowler with an old ball "Imran and underwood"
it will be very difficult for any strong batting lineup to survive for 90 overs in a day.

My Final XI for 1970-1989

Opening Batsmen : Greenidge and Gavaskar
Number 3 : Richards
Middle Order : Chappell and Border
Allrounders : Imran and Hadlee

Another option is Garner instead of Lillee. His height would add to the attack.
Hadlee, Marshall, Imran, Garner plus Underwood
