So McDermott signing here is interesting as if means he'll miss Tasmania's first Shield game back

He's not done very much for them this season, but that is beside the point. What I am wondering is if this is a sign of the direction his career will be going in?

Maybe he's realised that after this BBL season and his t20I stuff vs Sri Lanka last summer that he's not much of a chance to play white ball for Aus so he may aswell go mercenery. If I was him and I got overlooked for the ODI squad after making a 100 in the last ODI series I played ide be a bit ticked off aswell.

Does david signing in this mean that he's not gonna play the PSL this year? He was picked up by a franchise i'm pretty sure and it starts feb 13th.

Ja, TB seems to be a changed batter recently, taking a break after the Aus series seems to have done him the world of good.

Now to repay the faith and start getting some Test hundreds.

Yep. If you look at his Test batting stats in the last 2 years he has done everything but score those 100s... so very important. Would be great for him to do a Faf late career and keep going for us.

He's probably the senior batter now and he has to start converting some of those starts and fifties. His recent stats have been good but one hundred in 50 Tests for a specialist bat is simply not good enough.
