The selectors deserve that fiasco. Why are they always so late in recognising what we see? Clearly Nicholls' hasn't been the player he was 2-3 years ago in any form for a long time now, and I'm still not convinced he was a good ODI bat even when he was at his best. No clue, and no accountability our stupid selectors.

Hopefully Mitchell's loyalty leash isn't too long either. Starting to have real doubts about him seemingly being a lock in our white-ball sides. That T20 semi final innings vs England in 2021 & his excellent Test series last year aside, he's done bugger all. Meanwhile Chapman gets very few chances.

Whatever it takes!!!
Allen
Conway
Phillips
Chapman
Latham+
Mitchell
M. Bracewell
Santner
D. Bracewell
Shipley
Duffy

Give Lockie a rest lest he fall apart. See what Phillips can do at 3. Mitchell seems to fare better down the order. 8 bowling options and deep batting. One more wheel for Shipley to get some more experience of the SC.
Would switch Chapman and Phillips in that batting order and also keep Tickner in for Shipley coz I think he is good and the experience is important in a WC year. Also maybe Sodhi for Duffy.

Would switch Chapman and Phillips in that batting order
Agree, would be a stupid move batting Phillips who's suited to finishing the innings at 3. He's perfect to bat 5 or 6 in the middle to end overs, where his speed between wickets & power hitting are most valued.

It's one innings to see how he goes because Williamson will return to 3 anyway. The best 5/6 combo is Mitchell and Phillips imo

Deckchairs and the Titanic come to mind. We need Will Young and the batting order is not the issue.

I am concerned about Finn Alllen as well whos percentage of times that he comes off is very low. Last's nights delivery was gun barrel straight at his pads. Should have been hit for six. He's only excuse is that possibly it stopped on him. Would keep him anyway as you can see improvements

Here for fun is a team with 5 front line bowlers as it seems easier to think of quality bowling options right now instead of batting options.

1) Finn Allen
2) Conway
3) Kane
4) Will Young
5) Latham
6) ?????
7) Santner
8) Jamieson (looked unplayable today in the super smash)
9) Sodhi
10) Ferguson
11) Boult

Candidates for 6
List A averages
Rachin 32.08
Phillips 35.14
Bracewell 34.08
Mitchell 36.04
Neesham 33.43
Chapman 48.00
